City of Greensboro damaged from a confirmed tornado
GREENSBORO, NC (April 15, 2018) – The City of Greensboro has suffered major damage in several locations of the city from a confirmed tornado. There has been a local State of Emergency declared for Guilford County due to damage from the tornado. There has been one storm related fatality in Greensboro. Guilford County and City of Greensboro emergency operations are conducting damage assessments currently.
Any individual, who is in need of immediate shelter due to storm damage, should report directly to Glenwood Recreation Center or they can report to Dudley High School or the intersection of English and Market and receive transportation to the shelter. The American Red Cross will be staffing the shelter at Glenwood Center. Guilford County Animal Services will be at all reporting locations and at Glenwood Center to accept all domesticated animals.
