Fair Trade Retailer to Partner with Six Local Animal Rescues for Week-long Adoption Fair and Fundraiser

Ten Thousand Villages Greensboro, a fair trade retailer in the Jefferson Village shopping plaza, is helping animals find a home for the holidays during Animal Rescue Week from Dec 10th to 15th.

Store Manager Emily Shoemaker said, “We are excited about this opportunity to partner with Animal Rescue and Foster Program, Greyhound Friends of North Carolina, The Haley Graves Foundation, Red Dog Farm, SPCA of the Triad, and Triad Golden Retriever Rescue with this fundraiser and adoption fair.” Shoemaker continued, “As an organization, we are committed to offering our space to other local non-profits for gatherings and fundraisers. Every year during the holiday shopping season, we host about a dozen local groups for our Community Shopping Events. A large proportion of them have always been rescue groups, so this year we thought we’d schedule them all for the same week. We’ll be donating a portion of our sales to the rescue groups, and they will be bringing some of their adoptable animals to the store throughout the week.
