GREENSBORO, NC (November 6, 2019) – The Drama Center presents a teen production of William Shakespeare’s gender bending comedy “Twelfth Night,” November 21-24 in the Stephen D. Hyers Theatre at Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St. Shows are Thursday at 6:30 pm, Friday and Saturday at 8 pm, and Sunday at 2 pm. Thursday tickets are $5. Tickets for the other performances are $10-15. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.thedramacenter.com<www.thedramacenter.com> or by calling the box office at 336-335-6426.
“Twelfth Night,” one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies, will be presented by actors ages 12-17 and is appropriate for all ages. Viola and her twin brother are shipwrecked, separated, and wind up in the same town. Viola dresses as a man for protection and gets a job with the Count Orsino. She falls for him as he pines away for Olivia, meanwhile Olivia falls in love with Viola thinking she’s a man. Mistaken identities, misplaced money, and slapstick comedy are at the heart of this show.
