One Arrested in Connection with Highway Overpass Shootings

GREENSBORO, NC (Oct. 2, 2015) – A 21-year-old Greensboro man faces charges of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, and Conspiracy for allegedly robbing and shooting a pedestrian who was crossing the Highway 29 overpass at McKnight Mill Rd. on Sept.16.
Javon Tyrell Taylor, 2008 Owens St., was served these charges while confined in the Greensboro Jail Central for an unrelated offense.
A similar incident occurred on the pedestrian overpass on Sept. 10 when a man was shot during an attempted robbery. It is unknown whether or not Taylor was involved in this incident.
Based on witness statements, detectives believe Taylor had an accomplice during the Sept. 16 incident.
Both victims have since been released from the hospital.
