Emergency Shelter Transitioning to Windsor Recreation Center
GREENSBORO, NC (April 17, 2018) – The City of Greensboro’s emergency shelter will transition from the Glenwood Recreation Center to the Windsor Recreation Center, which is closer to the affected areas of Sunday’s tornado, beginning at 5:30 pm, Tuesday, April 17. Power has been restored at Windsor Recreation Center, 1601 E. Gate City Blvd. This is an American Red Cross managed and supported emergency shelter. This relocation will allow disaster survivors to more easily access the services provided by the Red Cross and partner agencies.
A shuttle service will provide transportation for individuals at the Glenwood Recreation Center to the Windsor Recreation Center beginning at 5:30 pm. Shelter attendees who have left their personal belongings at the Glenwood Shelter can pick up their belongings any time before 10 pm and use the shuttle to get to the new location.
