Guilford Parent Academy Seeking Presenters for Workshops
The deadline for submissions is Feb. 9, 2018

Greensboro, N.C. – Guilford Parent Academy (GPA) is already gearing up for the 2018-19 year and is on the search for qualified volunteers who are interested in presenting and/or hosting workshops on a variety of topics.

Proposals are being accepted for any presentations centered around GPA’s four major themes: school success, tools for parents, health & well-being and personal growth & development. However, based on feedback from parents, high-demand topics include:

* How to Help Your Child with Mathematics (elementary and middle grades)
* How to Help Your Child with Literacy (elementary and middle grades)
* Risky Behaviors
* College and Career Options for Students
* Growth Mindset
* Positive Discipline
* Anti-Bullying/Cyberspace Safety
* Balancing College & Retirement Funding for Parents
* Transitions: Preparing for Elementary School
* Getting Your Baby or Preschooler Ready for School
* Getting Fit with the Family
* Computer Skills for Today’s Job Seeker
* Excel Basics
* Microsoft Office Basics
* Money Smart
* Skills for Employment
* Time Management for Busy Parents
* Winning Resumes
Anyone with experience and credentials in the subject area(s) of interest is encouraged to respond. Click here to download the presentation information form. All proposals will be reviewed by the Curriculum Review Committee for approval. The deadline for submissions is Friday, Feb. 9, 2018.

Criteria for selection include content knowledge and experience, preparation and organization, familiarity with adult learning styles and training techniques, experience in working with diverse groups and cultures, and use of technology, among others.
