GCS Holds New Teacher Orientation
More than 300 teachers will complete the three-day training this week
Greensboro, N.C. – First-year teachers and teachers new to Guilford County Schools have spent the week learning best practices for teaching and classroom management skills, among other things during Right Start Orientation.
The new teacher orientation concludes today. They will visit their schools at 1:30 p.m. today for school-level orientation and to see their classrooms.
“Right Start is an opportunity to welcome teachers to our district and share with them just how valuable their work is to our students,” said Crystal Vandiver, director of new teacher support for GCS. “We hope teachers leave feeling prepared to have a successful first year teaching in Guilford County.”
Schools that observe the traditional calendar will resume Monday, Aug. 27.
