GREENSBORO, NC — We want to give you the chance to ask your city officials questions and WFMY News 2s Ask the Chief series continued with a twist! Greensboro Police Department’s Deputy Chief James Hinson joined Lauren Melvin Wednesday morning.

They started by talking about something everyone can relate to — this weather! Greensboro got several inches of snow and ice over the past few days, and that meant police were pretty busy! Between 6:00 am Friday, January 22 and 7:00 pm Saturday, January 23, GPD responded to 328 calls to help broken down or stuck motorists, 59 collisions with property damage, and 45 collisions with injuries.

Woman Pinned Underneath Vehicle In Serious Condition


GREENSBORO, NC — The Greensboro Police Department says a wreck left a pedestrian in serious condition. Police said at one point the woman was pinned underneath a vehicle.

The crash happened at Han Pheng Inc located at 6001 West Market Street just after 7:00 Wednesday morning. GPD told WFMY News 2 the woman was taken to the hospital.

Police ask drivers to avoid the area if possible, while they investigate.
