Livestock Is North Carolina’s Number One Agriculture Industry

Livestock is a multi-billion dollar industry in the Untied States. You don’t have to tell Triad farmers that. Livestock is North Carolina’s number one agriculture industry. When it comes to horses, Guilford County ranks second in the state. There is about 11,000 heads of horses in the county. That a value of $66,500,000 for Triad farmers. Rockingham County ranks number six in the state with about 8,250 horses.

The Guildford County Cooperative Extension is hosting their 2016 Extension Horse Management Short Courses. The program runs for eight weeks starting Monday January 25, 2016. It then continues every Monday for seven more weeks. It’s at 3309 Burlington, Rd in Greensboro.
