Spring into Action! Parents May Register Students for Kindergarten
GCS encourages parents to register students in spring to start communications with school

Greensboro, N.C. – Now is the time for families to register their students for kindergarten!

Families may register at any time, up to and including the beginning of school, but GCS encourages families to enroll in the spring to ensure they receive important communications from school before the first day of class.

To register a student for kindergarten, parents must contact the child’s assigned school, which can be found through GCS’ school assignment locator, and provide a proof of residence, certified birth certificate, immunization (shots) record and a Health Assessment Transmittal Form. While the health department and pediatricians should have the transmittal form, parents are encouraged to print it out and provide it to their doctors to ensure the correct form is completed.

For more information on registering a child for kindergarten, and details on immunization and residence requirements, click here.

Families may also call the GCS Student Assignment Office at 336-370-8303 with any additional questions.
