Six GCS Schools Advance to State Quiz Bowl Tournament
State Tournament scheduled for this Saturday, March 18, in Moore County

Greensboro, N.C. – Six Guilford County Schools Quiz Bowl teams will compete in the state tournament this weekend.

Quiz Bowl tests students’ knowledge on history, literature, science, math, fine arts, current events, sports and pop culture. Based on their performance at the regional competition, teams from Brown Summit Middle, Northwest Middle, the Early College at Guilford, Western High, High Point Central and Northwest High will move on to the state competition at West Pine Middle in Moore County on Saturday, March 18.

The Early College at Guilford won the state tournament last year, and competed in the national tournament for the seventh year in a row.

“Our Early College at Guilford Quiz Bowl team is excited for this great opportunity to go against such high-level competition for a state championship,” says Paul Smith, Early College at Guilford team coach.

The Quiz Bowl is one of 23 competitions held by the North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities (NCASA).
