Open Houses Ready to Begin for GCS Schools
First set of schools back in session on August 3

Greensboro, N.C. – It’s only July, but GCS students and staff are getting ready to go back into the classroom. Students at the early and middle colleges and academies will return on August 3, with additional schools starting on August 9 and August 11. Traditional-calendar schools start on August 28.

To welcome parents and students for the new year, each school will host an open house. A full list of those events can be found here.

Open houses are a great time for parents to meet their child’s teacher and principal, find out about new programs or changes to routine and renew their status as a volunteer. Parents should also be sure to supply their current phone numbers and email addresses to ensure they receive information from the district and school and can be reached in case of emergency.

The back-to-school website has additional information for parents and families. Share your back-to-school stories and photos with us using the hashtag #GCSFirstDay2017.
