Victim of Julian St. Shooting Succumbs to Wounds

GREENSBORO, NC (March 16, 2017) – The man who was shot and struck by a vehicle on March 14 near the intersection of Julian St. and Omaha St. has succumbed to his wounds, and was pronounced deceased this afternoon.
Archery Monyae Thompson, Sr., 40, was found in the roadways with life threatening wounds after police were dispatched to the scene at approximately 12:14 pm when witnesses called GM 911 to report hearing gunfire.
Police have determined that Thompson, of 506 Ireland St., was both shot and run over by a vehicle. Detectives are withholding details of the incident to identify the person or persons responsible for Thompson’s death.
Detectives are awaiting autopsy results to determine if his death should be classified as a homicide.
