Public Meetings this Week Discuss Future Planning
for Portion of Southeast Greensboro

GREENSBORO, NC (December 5, 2017) – The public is invited to attend meetings Thursday, December 7 and Saturday, December 9 to learn about ways the City can help guide future planning and development of the area centered around the intersection of E. Gate City Boulevard and E. Florida Street in southeast Greensboro, being called “Innovation Village.”

* Thursday from 6-8 pm, in the Simkins Sports Pavilion at Barber Park, 1500 Dans Rd.

o Workshop

* Saturday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, also in the Simkins Sports Pavilion at Barber Park, 1500 Dans Rd.

o Open House

o Presentation

o Open discussion

Innovation Village includes these areas around Barber Park, Gateway Gardens, Hayes-Taylor YMCA, and Gateway University Research Park. The City’s Planning Department recently received a grant from the American Planning Association’s Community Planning Assistance Team (CPAT) for this project.
