Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities Holds Shopping Day December 7

WHAT: The Greensboro Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities will host its 32nd annual Shoppers’ Day. More than 500 volunteers will be paired with 758 shoppers of varying abilities. This event emphasizes the importance of inclusion, empathy, acceptance, and compassion while allowing volunteers to make new friends and gain valuable insight from persons with disabilities. The event includes free refreshments, a visit with Santa, and gift wrapping for shoppers.

WHEN: 9 am to 12 pm, Thursday, December 7

WHERE: Four Seasons Towne Centre, 410 Four Seasons Blvd.

WHO: Councilwoman Marikay Abuzuaiter will kick off the event with a welcome. The event also features free entertainment performed by persons with disabilities, including local “sit down stand-up comic” Leo Hodson, students from Greene Education Center, and Grimsley High School student Jonathan Smith singing “Jingle Bell Rock.”
