GREENSBORO, N.C. — No doubt, WFMY News 2’s Tanya Rivera is a champion for consumer action and helping our community. Rivera has shown viewers what she’s capable of as she works to solve problems and get action for those who need it. On Tuesday, Rivera was honored with the “People of TEGNA” as she was spotlighted by not only her talents but for her efforts to help our community. Rivera spoke about what drives her, motivates her and above all about her love for our community. Rivera also thanked the entire 2 Wants to Know team for their efforts in helping all of our viewers. Rivera has a passion to help her community thrive as she continues to be at the front of 2 Wants To Know at 5:30.

Greensboro Police: Suspect Shot By Officers After Crime Spree

Officer-Involved Shooting In Downtown Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C.– Police in Greensboro are investigating an officer-involved shooting. Police said the suspect, Isaiah Fox, 26, was shot in an attempt to stop a crime rampage that began Tuesday afternoon. The rampage involved multiple crimes from running a person over, stealing multiple cars, to breaking into a house and that’s not all. Fox is in critical condition in the hospital. Police are asking anyone else who could have been a victim during the crime spree to immediately contact them by calling 911. Fox is charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. However police said Fox could face other charges. We do want to note the picture police provided of Fox was taken in August of this year.

The officers involved in the shooting including Det. R.E. Ferrell and Det. W.C. Tyndall are both on administrative duties per department protocol following the shooting.
